NFL Draft Prospects

This is not a list of the
top 10 players in the NFL Draft. If so, my list would be
identical to every other draft expert. Calvin Johnson, Joe
Thomas, Brady Quinn, and JaMarcus Russell would all be on it.
But, like I said this is not that kind of list. This is a list of
MY top 10 favorite prospects in the NFL Draft. These players are
enjoy watching because of their intensity and love of the game.
These are players I would want to build my team
around. Check out last
year's team.

1. Eric Weddle, S, Utah- This
guy really does not have a position, he can play safety, cornerback, or
even quarterback. He is an athlete, plain and simple. He is
just a player who loves to play. He will be the guy who wants to
play on special teams. He had an unbelievable 18 interceptions in
his
career. This guy is just flat out exciting to watch.
2. Joe Newton, TE, Oregon
St.- I have been no stranger saying that the tight end
position was my favorite. If a team can find a talented tight
end, it creates a miscoverage almost every time. Newton is 6-7
with great hands what better could a quarterback ask for. In the
red zone, pass Newton the ball in that is an easy touchdown. Any
one see that Sun Bowl this year? Missouri could not stop Newton.
3. Patrick Willis,
LB, Ole Miss.- This past summer, Patrick experienced the
worst of all fates: his brother, 17 years old, drowned.
Willis was able to overcome his brother's death and won the
Butkus. He is a great team leader on and off the field.
Willis will be a Pro Bowl middle linebacker. He also will be one
of the players in the United Way commercials. I would take 53
Patrick Willises.
4. Brian Leonard,
FB, Rutgers- This guy is the heart of Rutgers football.
Coach Schiano did a great job, but Rutgers' resurrection would have
never happened without players like Leonard. He is a team player;
allowing Ray Rice get more touches to help the team win. He
blocks, runs, and catches. This guy will do anything a coach asks
for.
5. Jarvis Moss, DE,
Florida- Being from Ohio, I will never forget Mr.
Moss. I never seen so much athleticism and domination from a
defensive
end since Julius Peppers. Moss also may be the best field goal
blocker I have ever seen. I have heard the other experts saying
Gaines
Adams and Jamaal Anderson are the two elite defensive ends, but I would
take Moss before both of them. No joke.
6. Joe Staley, OT,
Central Michigan- If I told you I knew an offensive
tackle who could run a 4.75 40 you would think I was insane.
Staley also has great footwork and blocking techniques. The
football nation is starting to hear about Staley, do not be surprise to
hear his name in the first round.
7. Marcus Hamilton,
CB, Virginia- A great team leader who finished his career
with 15 interceptions. Hamilton seems to intercept anything in
his vicinity. Did anyone see the 2005 Music City Bowl?
Probably not. Hamilton came out of nowhere to intercept a pass in
the endzone to seal the one for Virginia against Minnesota.
8. Garrett Wolfe,
RB, Northern Illinois- How can you not love 5-7 Garrett
Wolfe? You think he is too small? Don't tell Ohio State
that: 171 rushing yards, 114 receiving yards. He may be
small, but not his heart or talent.
9. Johnnie Lee
Higgins, WR, UTEP- It is easy for any wide receiver to get
lost in the shuffle of talent in this draft. Because of that,
some lucky team may get Higgins in the 3rd round. Higgins has
great speed and his hands seem to catch every thing in site.
Higgins biggest problem is he suffers from shortness, but with 4.35 30
speed, does it really matter?
10. Dan Bazuin, DE,
Central Michigan- "Buzz" is a speedy pass rusher with an awesome
motor. Not the most athletic person, but seems to always make the
big plays. Recorded 16 sacks in his junior season. Buzz
could also be a 3-4 linebacker.
