Scouting Report: Mike Pouncey, G, Florida

Strengths: Very Athletic and quick for his size. He is the quickest linemen in this draft. Very versatile; can play all three positions in the interior line. Very strong against the run and the pass. He is able to mirror opposing defenders. Quick off the snap. I believe that quickness is his main strength. He is effective at pulling as well as trapping. Intelligent; able to understand his assignments. Clean off the field. He is a leader on the field.

Weaknesses: Not as good as his twin brother. My main problem with Mike is his inconsistency. I see him flash as a prospect on one play then look really bad a play later. He needs to be more consistent as a player. However, if this is his main concern I am not worried. Almost every player needs to be more consistent. Often struggles with snapping the football.

Summary: Everybody knows his twin brother Maurkice Pouncey for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is a terrific center who will be good for a long time. Mike isn't as good as his brother but he is pretty close. I like him a lot as a prospect. He is by far the quickest linemen in this draft. He is extremely athletic and is very versatile. He has a lot to offer NFL teams and he will most likely be drafted in the middle to late first round this April.
