Strengths:  Has great focus, able to win one on one battles.  Shows pretty good speed and acceleration, able to take the top off defenses.  Has great body control and balance.  Physical receiver; can beat jams at the line.  Elusive and dangerous after the catch.  Good field vision and is a natural runner with the football.  Playmaker.  Not afraid to go over the middle and isn’t afraid of contact.  Tough player who can break tackles at times.  Able to catch the ball in traffic.  Has pretty good hands.  Very competitive.  Very capable blocker.  Has pretty good awareness.  Elite motor, looks like he gives 100% on every play.  Instincts.

Weaknesses:  Route running is the biggest area of improvement I see.  He needs to make better and cleaner cuts.  He looks thin on film; I would like to see him add some bulk.  I would like to see a little bit more burst from him at times.  I have minor doubts about him being able to create separation in the NFL.

Summary:  Quinton Patton started out at Coffeyville Community College and then transferred to Louisiana Tech.  Patton stood out in film to me instantly; he’s fun to watch.  He’s a quick and shifty receiver who is tough, physical and possesses soft hands.  To me, he looks like a natural with the ball in his hands.  He’s got great instincts, dangerous after the catch and does whatever it takes to win.  I also think he has a high ceiling to get even better.  Some concerns I have include his route running and getting consistent separation but overall I really liked what I saw from Patton.  I think he’s a strong 2nd round pick.

Draft Projection: 2nd round
