NFL Mock Draft - Round 3
by Michael
Abromowitz
NFL Draft
Director
4/25/09
65. Detroit Lions - Troy
Kropog, OT, Tulane
The Lions finally get a tackle to play on the left side.
66. St. Louis Rams - Gerald McRath, ILB, Southern
Miss.
With Will Weatherspoon moving back to the
outside, an inside linebacker is needed.
67. Kansas
City Chiefs - Gerald Cadogan, OT, Penn St.
The Chiefs passed on an OT in round 1, now they
get Cadogan who hopefully can be the future right tackle.
68. Seattle
Seahawks - Sebastian
Vollmer, OT, Houston
The Seahawks passed on OT in
round 1, and get Vollmer who has great potential.
69. Dallas Cowboys - Duke Robinson, G, Oklahoma
The Cowboys get great value and adds help in the
inside with Duke.
70. Cincinnati
Bengals - Paul Kruger, DE, Utah
The Bengals desperately need to add pressure to
the quarterback and Kruger has that potential.
71. Oakland Raiders - Chip
Vaughn, SS, Wake Forest
The Raiders are not too happy with Michael Huff
and the Raiders already released starting FS Gibril Wilson.
72. Jacksonville
Jaguars - Andy Levitre, G, Oregon St.
The Jags help add depth to their line with the
versatile Levitre who played tackle in college.
73. Green Bay
Packers
- Lawrence Sidbury, DE/OLB, Richmond
The Packers add Sidbury who looks to be a perfect
3-4 OLB.
74.
San Francisco 49ers - Rashad Jennings, RB, Liberty
The 49ers need a complement to Frank Gore.
75. Buffalo Bills - Jason Williams, OLB, Western Illinois
The Bills lost Angelo
Crowell in free agency.
76. New York Jets
- Andre Brown, RB, North Carolina St.
Thomas Jones is over 30 years old and Leon
Washington looks to only be a 3rd down running back.
77. Houston Texans -
Kevin Barnes, CB, Maryland
After Dunta Robinson, the Texans lack much help
at CB.
78. San Diego
Chargers - Kraig Urbik, G, Wisconsin
Mike Goff is a free agent and Urbik is NFL ready
to start right away at guard.
79. Denver Broncos - Sammie Lee Hill, DT, Stillman
The Broncos hope Hill can
play tackle in a 3-4.
80. Washington
Redskins - Marcus Freeman, OLB, Ohio State
The Redskins pass on DE to take Freeman who will add much need help at
the OLB position.
81. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Dorell Scott, DT, Clemson
The Bucs finally get their DT
and its not a small, quick cover 2 defensive tackle. Defensive
coordinator Jim Bates wants a bigger guy such as Scott.
82. Detroit Lions -
Rashad Johnson, FS, Alabama
The Lions defensive backfield was horrible last
season. Johnson would allow Bullocks to move to strong safety.
83.
Green Bay Packers - Mike Mickens, CB,
Cincinnati
The Packers' two cornerbacks, Charles Woodson and
Al Harris, are aging.
84. Denver Broncos - Pat White,
QB, West Virginia
The Broncos use this pick they received from
Chicago in the Jay Cutler trade to draft a quarterback. The
Broncos are one team that has shown a lot of interest in White at the
quarterback position.
85.
Philadelphia - Sherrod Martin, FS/CB, Troy
The Eagles signed Sean Jones in the offseason,
but only to a 1 year contract.
86. Minnesota Vikings
- Sen'Derrick Mrks, DT, Auburn
The Vikings have their two starting defensive tackles facing 4 games
suspensions and they lack much depth behind them.
87. Miami Dolphins -
Chris Baker, DT, Hampton
Jason Ferguson is not getting any younger at the
nosetackle position.
88.
Baltimore Ravens - Jairus Byrd, CB,
Oregon
The Ravens gave big money to Domonique Foxworth
and even repicked up the ageless Samari Rolle, however, youth is still
need at the cornerback position.
89. New England
Patriots - James Casey, TE, Rice
The Pats add more talent to their arsenal with Rice.
90. Atlanta Falcons -
Brandon Williams, DE, Texas Tech
Jamaal Anderson has yet to live up to his high expectations.
91. New York Giants -
Cornelius Ingram, TE, Florida
The Giants add another weapon for Eli
Manning. Ingram would make a lethal tight end combo with Kevin
Boss.
92.
Indianapolis Colts - Javon Ringer, RB, Michigan St.
The Colts add another back to complement Joseph Addai, who struggled
last season.
93. Carolina Panthers - Roy Miller, DT, Texas
The Panthers really
lack defensive tackle depth
outside of Ma'ake Kemoeatu.
94. Tennessee Titans -
Derrick Williams, WR, Penn St.
The Titans add to a receiving
corps that is lacking.
95.
Arizona Cardinals - Antoine Caldwell, C, Alabama
The Cards get Caldwell to compete with Lyle Sendlein.
96.
Pittsburgh Steelers - Ricky Jean-Francois, DE/DT, LSU
The Steelers' starting defensive line is all over 30 years old.
97. New England
Patriots - Chris Clemons, FS, Clemson
The Patriots continue to bolster their defensive backfield.
98. Cincinnati
Bengals - Jasper Brinkley, ILB, South Carolina
The Bengals need to find their
eventual successor to Dhani Jones who spends more time traveling the
world than focusing on football. Can you say preparing for
retirement?
99. Chicago Bears -
David Veikune, DE, Hawaii
The Bears struggled last season creating a pass rush.
100. New York Giants
- Fenuki Tupou, OT, Oregon
The Giants continue to add talent and take Tupou for immediate depth on
the offensive line and to possibly be a future tackle.
