2007 NFL Mock Draft
by AJ Krow, 2/2/07

Abromowitz's Draft Donnelly's Draft
Bures' Draft Dietzler's Draft
Krow's Draft
Otwell's Draft

1.
Oakland Raiders
JaMarcus Russell
QB
LSU
Russell is bigger, has a stronger arm, and has better measurables which is all Al Davis wants. Plus, he could go down as the best short yardage QB of all time.
2.  Detroit Lions Joe Thomas OT Wisconsin
Quinn may be the more exciting pick, and I pray Millen takes Calvin Johnson (don’t we all though?), but the best pick is Thomas. Kitna did good things last year when he had enough time to pass. Most of those fumbles wouldn’t have happened with a better o-line
3.
Cleveland Browns
Alan Branch
DT
Michigan
Again, many think Quinn would be the better pick, but what good is even an elite QB if your offense never gets off the field? Opponents ran all over the Browns, and Branch is the best way to plug that hole (pun intended).
4.
Tampa Bay Buccanneers
Calvin Johnson
WR
Georgia Tech
Hands down the best offensive player in the draft. The Buccaneers have absolutely no offensive fire power. Johnson is a great combo of Deep threat ability and is a great possession target.
5.
Arizona Cardinals
Jamaal Anderson
DE
Arkansas
Explosive and his stock is rising. Arizona had no threat off the edge last year.
6.
Washington Redskins
Gaines Adams
DE
Clemson
Again, no pass rushing threat last year. This will help out the secondary as well. Was dominant at times this season. Needs to add more lower body strength.
7.
Carolina Panthers (from Minnesota)
Brady Quinn
QB
Notre Dame
I think Jake Delhomme is just awful so this might be more of something I’d do, but it’s hard to let a player of Quinn’s caliber go. He would make the offense more explosive.
8.
Houston Texans
Adrian Peterson
RB
Oklahoma
The best running back hands down. Perfect for Houston since Kubiak installed the zone blocking system, which Peterson ran in at Oklahoma.
9.
Miami Dolphins
Reggie Nelson
DE
Florida
Could go top 5. Explosive and attacks the ball. Miami’s D is just old and boring. Will team with Jason Allen and Channing Crowder to form a solid young nucleus of talent.
10.
Atlanta Falcons
LaRon Landry
S
LSU
I think he’s a little overrated but Atlanta needs a safety. Will be an instant upgrade over Chris Crocker.
11.
San Francisco 49ers
Leon Hall
CB
Michigan

San Fran couldn’t stop the pass last year and adding Hall would also help out the run game as he’s a physical corner and will stuff the run on the perimeter. I think he would be best in a Cover 2 system due to his physicality but will flourish anywhere.

12.
Buffalo Bills
Levi Brown
T
Penn State
Willis McGahee hasn’t reached his full potential yet and will flourish with a mauler like Brown blocking for him. Also will help J.P. Losman’s development.
13.
St. Louis Rams
Patrick Willis
LB
Ole Miss.
The Rams’s linebackers are getting old and slow. Willis is a great Cover 2 linebacker and will fit in perfectly
14.
Minnesota Vikings (from Carolina)
Dwayne Jarrett
WR
USC
Trade back and still get the guy they wanted. It’s either between Jarrett or Ted Ginn, but I think Jarrett is a much safer pick. Will help out Tarvarris Jackson.
15.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Quentin Moses
DE/OLB Georgia
The Steelers linebackers aren’t getting any younger, and Joey Porter might walk, leaving a glaring whole at the OLB position. Since he’s a little slight to handle the trenches, he follows the lead of Merrimen/Ware/Wimbley and thrives.
16.
Green Bay Packers
Marshawn Lynch
RB
California
Could go with Justin Blalock to solidify the offensive line but Lynch is a special player and they can’t pass on him. The total package with size, speed and hands.

17.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Lawrence Timmons
OLB
FSU
Mike Peterson is awesome, but Nick Greison and Clint Ingram aren’t. Timmons has great athleticism and can step in and start on the weak side immediately.
18.
Cincinnati Bengals
Amobi Okoye
DT
Louisville
The interior D-Line is old and not productive. Okoye should go much higher and is a good fit on an athletic, attacking defense. He’s stout against the run and will only get better.
19.
Tennessee Titans
Ted Ginn Jr.
WR
Ohio State
While I think other receivers available are better at their trade than Ginn, his explosiveness is unmatched and will team with Vince Young to form the most athletic QB/WR duo of all time. His kick return ability is huge for the Titans since Jeff Fisher refuses to put Pac32 back there.
20.
New York Giants
Darrelle Revis
CB
Pittsburgh
The Giants pass d was absolutely pathetic last year and Revis is arguably the top corner in the draft. Great size and instincts and will step in the starting spot immediately.
21.
Denver Broncos
Adam Carriker
DE
Nebraska
They could go with Tank Tyler here, but Carriker gets the nod due to the need of an every down edge rusher. Carriker is solid against the run as well and had a terrific senior bowl week.
22.
Dallas Cowboys
Justin Blalock
OG
Texas
The most logical pick in the draft. The Cowboys O-Line is just old. Blalock will be an absolutely dominant guard.
23.
Kansas City Chiefs
Robert Meachem
WR
Tennessee
Please. Take a wide receiver. Now. Meacham has outstanding tools. He has great speed but showed he can go over the middle.
24.
New England Patriots (from Seattle)
Michael Griffin S Texas
Somehow falls all the way to the Pats and can step into the starting role once Rodney Harrison goes down (about week 2 is my guess). Griffin has a great skill set and intelligence.
25.
New York Jets
Tank Tyler
DT
NC State
Underrated due to the talent that surrounded him last year (3 first rounders on the same D-line). He had a great year last year w/ 8.5 TFL’s. Solid run stopper.
26.
Philadelphia Eagles
Paul Posluzny
OLB Penn St.
The Eagles always seem to neglect their linebackers, and this year they can address it with this gift that’s fallen to them. Posluzny has incredible instincts and makes plays behind the LOS.
27.
New Orleans Saints
Marcus McCauley
CB
Fresno St.
Big, physical, and fast. Has all the tools to eliminate one side of the field. Could take over immediately in a shaky secondary.
28.
New England Patriots
Buster Davis
LB
FSU
They need youth at LB. Bad. Davis is small, but NE has embraced slight players and turn them into stars. He has outstanding instincts and athletic ability.
29.
Baltimore Ravens
Michael Bush
RB
Louisville
A top talent that can do the same things Jamal Lewis did but better. He also can stay in and pass pro and catch out of the backfield, and even step in at QB if something happens.
30.
San Diego Chargers
Sidney Rice
WR
South Carolina
San Diego lacks a deep threat. Actually, they just lack a receiving threat. Rice has the big play ability, size, and speed to become a franchise receiver.
31.
Indianapolis Colts Earl Everett
LB
Florida
They are going to go with a LB here; it’s just a question of which one. Everett really made a huge jump in the national championship game and is a good fit for the Colts attacking Defense.
32.
Chicago Bears
Joe Staley
OT
Central Michigan
Their O-line is getting old, and this is a gift for Staley to fall to them. He will be given a year or two to develop and could turn into an All-Pro down the line.
