NFL Draft Prospect Interview: Ken Bohnet, TE, Eastern Michigan
by Michael Abromowitz, 4/4/08Ken Bohnet is one talented guy, on and off the field.  On the field he was the starting tight end for the Eastern Michigan Eagles where he used his massive size as a mismatch against defenders.  On the classroom though, he may be more impressive.  He was Academic All-MAC witha 3.88 in Accounting and is currently pursuing his Masters.  He also can play a little quarterback (originally played quarterback at EMU).

Ken Bohnet:  6’4.5’’, 257 lbs.

Ken Bohnet:  Smart, Versatile, Blue collar.

TheFootballExpert.com:  What do you feel is your greatest strength as a football player and what area do you feel you need to improve in?

Ken Bohnet: Understanding of the game, need to improve big play capability.

Ken Bohnet:  Jason Witten

TheFootballExpert.com:  Who is the best player you have faced during your college football career?

Ken Bohnet:  Jonathon Goff, LB, Vanderbilt

Ken Bohnet:  Beating Central Michigan in my final game.

TheFootballExpert.com:  Did you have a favorite pro team growing up?  Favorite player?

Ken Bohnet:  Raiders, Barry Sanders


TheFootballExpert.com:  How instrumental was your Coach Jeff Genyk in your progression?

Ken Bohnet:  Jeff Genyk switched me from a QB to TE, but didn’t help me a lot beyond that.

TheFootballExpert.com:  What have former college teammates now in the NFL told you about preparing for the league?

Ken Bohnet:  Know your playbook, you have no friends in camp.

TheFootballExpert.com:  When you get your first professional paycheck what is the first thing you will buy?

Ken Bohnet:  Parents’ trips to all my games

TheFootballExpert.com:  How will you be preparing for the NFL Draft?

Ken Bohnet:  Keep working out to prepare for a camp.

TheFootballExpert.com:  Do you have any goals in mind when it comes to the NFL Draft?

Ken Bohnet:  Go to a team who needs and wants me.

What is the one thing you will most miss at college?
Ken Bohnet: My teammates and the camaraderie.

Ken Bohnet:  Aubree’s Pizza and Bar

TheFootballExpert.com:  What was your favorite college course and why?

Ken Bohnet:  Psychology because it was so different than any other class I had ever taken

Ken Bohnet:  It’s a business.

Ken Bohnet:  Like to stay as relaxed as possible by talking and laughing.

Ken Bohnet: I am a Masters student in Accounting.

Ken Bohnet:  Yes
