Jesse Allen is a hard worker on the football
turf and also in the weight room. He has always
had to work hard to prove himself because he originally
came to Virginia Tech as a walk-on. But his
strong play, determiniation, and leadership skills
helped him become a scholarship player and one of
the top fullback prospects in the upcoming draft.

Jesse Allen: Lead
Blocker, Hands (Catching ball), Need to get more experience carrying
the ball.

Jesse Allen: Have no clue…I really don’t watch NFL
football that much, Id like to think that I can play like the Patriots

up? Favorite player?
Jesse Allen: My
family is from Rochester New
York originally and my Dad a Bills fan while I
was young. I grew up liking
the Buffalo Bills. Favorite player: Steve Tasker.

career is over?

since the end of your college season?
Jesse Allen: Training
at Volocities Training center in East Longmeadow Mass with Frank
Ceresoli, trainer / director. Also Im
staying at school
and finishing up my degree in spring and working hard with Mike Gentry
VT’s
awesome S&C coach.
TheFootballExpert.com: Obviously it is still early, but do you have
any goals in mind when it comes to the NFL Draft?
Jesse Allen: Only
goal is to keep playing football and as far as the draft goes I
understand that
Fullbacks are rarely drafted and Ill take what I can get. Im healthy
and in the
best shape I can be in and ready to go.
TheFootballExpert.com: What is the one thing you will most miss at
college?
Jesse Allen: Friends, I’ve made so many. My player bud’s
like Nick Schmidt, Brandon Pace, Nick Leeson and my coaches at VT, I
wouldn’t
be here if it wasn’t for Coach Billy Hite who gave me a chance to make
the team
and Coach Beamer who has always fair and
supportive.
TheFootballExpert.com: What are your plans to help you get
notice? Combines? All-star
games?
Jesse Allen: I
just finished the East-West Shrine game in Houston
Texas. That was a
great experience working
with legend Don Shula of the Miami Dolphins. I made the first team
Offense and
had a great game blocking and catching the ball, I even had 2 carries
for 12
hard yards, it was great. Im hoping to be a late invite to the NFL
Combine and
if not be ready on Senior Pro Day.
TheFootballExpert.com: What have former Virginia Tech players now in
the NFL told you about preparing for the league?
Jesse Allen: I
haven’t really had the time to speak with them, I guess now is the time
to
contact a few buddies like Darryl Tapp (Seattle), Jeff King (Panthers)
etc and
find out things I should be doing.
