Default Chiefs

It must hurt KC fans to see teams claim a trophy named after their guy Hunt every year. This franchise deserves better and should get it with Pioli on hand.

I would gun for Sanchez, but his trend sems to be DL. His strategy has to change from what he did in New England because the team never drafted #3 overall. A trade back? I would expect it.

A good team starts on the line, both sides.
What happens to a great QB prospect who is drafted before the line is in place?
See David Carr.

Your answer: Eugene Monroe
Great Team mate, knows Brandon Albert, helps to form unity on the line.

Default Defense

I think the Chiefs should go Defense and defense this year.
Orakpo were my choice in first round (Curry as alternative),
T.Jackson in second round (Beckwith as alternative).
Luigs, Caldwell, Wood or Urbik in thrid round (depends on who is available)
I'd play Thigpen at quaterback and select N.Davis or R.Bomar in the fourth.

When you have a potential starter at QB already (who is well liked by your best player by the way) and the ability to get the best defensive player in the draft I say you go with Curry.

Default Curry

I would love to see the Chiefs trade down to somewhere between 6-15 or take the Eagles two first round picks as they could use a top OT and the Chiefs have a ton of holes to fill. But, I doubt that happens.

I have switched from OL to DE on my mock drafts but I am now leaning towards LB for reasons below.
I don't think Thigpen is the answer at QB but he is servicable for another year. They can draft a QB late in this draft, next year, or look and see if Pioli's former QB, Cassell, is out there as a FA in 2010.
I could live with them taking one of the top OT but figure they will address the OL with their 2nd or 3rd round pick to save money. They are paying Albert, who played well in '08, big bucks and don't figure them to pay first round money for a position, RT, C or G, they can get in a later round.
If the Chiefs are serious about moving DJ to ILB then Curry would be the perfect replacement.

If they sign a LB in free agency I would guess they take a DE. I just hope they don't take a QB. I could even live with them taking Crabtree.

As a UVA guy, I would love to see Eugene Monroe teamed up with fellow Cavalier Brandon Albert. If Tyson Jackson falls to the 2nd round, team him up with former teammate Glenn Dorsey.

In my most current mock draft, I have Aaron Curry, and think he is the logical choice if the Chiefs don't take a QB. Curry is great value and fills a huge need. By the way, Kiper has the Chiefs taking Sanchez.

Default Kiper

You mean helmet hair himself.

Can you imagine the Oline the Chiefs would have if they drafted Monroe, or any of the top OT, in the first and got lucky to have Mack/Unger drop to them in the second.
From LT to RT.
Monroe, Waters, Mack/Unger, Jones (weak spot) and Albert.
Maybe switch Monroe and Albert or move Albert to G if they think they have a RT available as McIntosh had a lot of trouble last year.

Maybe that would make LJ happy. Wait, nobody can make LJ happy besides LJ.

Default Draft

My bet is that the Chiefs trade down with Jags to the 8 spot (they move up and grab Crabtree in front of Seattle) and grab either Sanchez, OT, or front seven player with that pick. A lot will depend on what big name free agent they are able to sign before draft.
