2008 Fantasy Football Running Back Rankings
by Michael Cooper
Radio Host
8/7/08

1. Adrian Peterson - Speed, power and the best offensive line in football with a backup who fumbles.

2. Joseph Addai - Despite the return of Dominic Rhodes, this is now Addai's team.

3. LaDainian Tomlinson - His best days are behind him.

4. Marion Barber - This will be his career year.

5. Ryan Grant – He will emerge as a superstar this season if they pay him!

6. Brian Westbrook - He's a bit shell-shocked from too many hits.

7. Maurice Jones-Drew - Fred Taylor has had his last great year - this season is all Maurice.

8. Jonathan Stewart - Rebuilt offensive line - questionable quarterback - coach's job on the line - Superman to the rescue.

9. Steven Jackson - Looks the part of a top 5 back but never seems to act the part.

10. Jamal Lewis - Look for this to be his last great season.

11. Larry Johnson - Still no offensive line - no quarterback - 8 in the box spells another long year.

12. Willis McGahee - Time to come to life under a new coach but no Jonathan Ogden this season.

13. Clinton Portis- Re-birth for perhaps the last time - this is Clinton's chance to shine again.

14. Laurence Maroney –This year the attack becomes more run balanced - of course, that’s what I thought last year too!

15. Marshawn Lynch - Should be higher but a hit and run accident will drop you to 15 every time.

16. Michael Turner- Great back on a bad team.

17. Brandon Jacobs - May get higher on my list but has had health problems - he is the 21st century Larry Csonka.

18. Ronnie Brown - This may be a little too optimistic - his ACL injury makes this a risky pick.

19. Willie Parker - Will have to share time this year with the rookie and is coming off a bad wheel.

20. Tie:  Kevin Smith & Darren McFadden - Huge potential for these two - Smith and McFadden will probably both be in the top ten next season - they are basically all the Lions and Raiders have in fresh offense on stale teams.
