1. Minnesota Vikings
- 53 combined sacks and interceptions last year along with 9 TD’s -
plus add the 74 million they paid Jared Allen and they’re the King of
the Hill.
2. San Diego Chargers - A combined 72 sacks and interceptions and 5
TD’s along with rookie Antoine Cason cements this spot.
3. Chicago Bears - A healthy Mike Brown – a happy Devin Hester and
solid linebackers spells a magical season.
4. New York Giants - A record 53 sacks along with 15 Int's and 5 TD’s
and a pinch of Super Bowl swagger and they’re in the high rent district.
5. New England Patriots – combined for 65 sacks and interceptions but
lost some key players - only offset by the genius that is Bill
Belichick.
6. Dallas Cowboys - Tied the Patriots with 65 combined sacks and Int’s
plus they have Adam, I used to be "Pac Man," Jones.
7. Seattle Seahawks - Also had that magic combo of 65 sacks and Int’s
last season and will be motivated for their coach’s swan song.
8. Tennessee Titans - 62 combined sacks and Int’s plus they have a
mountain named Albert Haynesworth.
9. Jacksonville Jaguars - This team is all about defense – period.
10. Green Bay Packers - 55 combined sacks and Int’s last season and an
awesome group of defensive backs.
11. New Orleans Saints - The NFL’s most improved Defense adding
LB Dan Morgan, CB Randall Gay, DE Bobby McCray, Jonathan Vilma and
rookie Sedrick Ellis and you have quite the Gumbo cooking.
12. Arizona Cardinals - It’s Pittsburgh Steelers West and they
scored 6 TD’s on Int’s alone last season.
13. Indianapolis Colts - 50 combined sacks and Int’s, 2 safety’s - add
Bob Sanders and Dwight Freeney and maybe they should be higher.
14. Tampa Bay - Getting a bit of a youth injection and they still have
Monte Kiffin but they aren’t your father’s Bucs.
15. Pittsburgh Steelers – By NFL numbers, last year’s best D but
Fantasy-wise this is just where they belong.
16. Cleveland Browns - They added a couple of mountains in the middle
of their defense with Corey Williams and Shaun Rogers - this team is on
the rise.
17. Philadelphia Eagles – Down year in ‘07 – Jim Johnson will have them
flying high with unbelievable talent on the corners.
18. Baltimore Ravens - Oh how the mighty have fallen!
19. Washington Redskins – Jason Taylor gives this D new life.
20) Tie: Houston Texans and New York Jets – Both teams have great young
talent and kickoff return men who returned 3 TD’s each in ‘07.
