TheFootballExpert.com: What is your accurate height, weight and
forty time?
Dan Bazuin: 6’02”4/8,
270 lbs, 4.68 sec
TheFootballExpert.com: What position do you expect to play in the
NFL?
Dan Bazuin: DE
in
a 4-3 defense or an OLB in a 3-4 defense.
TheFootballExpert.com: What do you feel is your greatest strength as
a football player and what area do you feel you need to improve in?
Dan Bazuin: I think my motor is my biggest strength;
I am never far from making a play because I am constantly hustling to
the
ball. My hands are also a big strength;
they keep me from getting locked up with an offensive lineman in my
pass
rush. I need to improve on shedding run
blocks at the next level because offensive lineman are bigger, more
athletic,
and have longer arms at the NFL level.
TheFootballExpert.com: What NFL player do you do you think you
compare favorably to?
Dan Bazuin: I compare favorably to Aaron Kampman of Green
Bay. He has a
high motor and a great passion for the game.
TheFootballExpert.com: Who is the best player you have faced during
your career?
Dan Bazuin: Jake Long of Michigan
is the best offensive tackle I have played against during my career. He is big, strong and physical, and is almost
never out of position to make a block.
TheFootballExpert.com: What is your greatest football moment to
date?
Dan Bazuin: Winning
the MAC championship in my final season with Central
Michigan
and following it up with a win in the Motor City Bowl.
TheFootballExpert.com: Did you have a favorite pro team growing up? Favorite player?
Dan Bazuin: My favorite teams growing up were the
Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers. My
favorite players were Barry Sanders of
Detroit and Bret Favre of Green Bay. These
players were and are great role models and two of the greatest players
to play
the game at their respective positions and I consider it a privilege to
have
been able to watch them in their careers.
TheFootballExpert.com: What do you plan to do once your playing
career is over?
Dan Bazuin: I would like to start my own business
after my playing career is over and use my degree in business. I would also like to coach at the high school
level and start a non-profit organization in my hometown and the
surrounding
area that will address suicide.
TheFootballExpert.com: When you get your first professional paycheck
what is the first thing you will buy?
Dan Bazuin: I will pay back and address financial
issue with my family first and then begin a financial investment
program for my
future.
TheFootballExpert.com: How have you been preparing and training
since the end of your college season?
Dan Bazuin: I have been training at Parisi
Speed School
in New Jersey in
anticipation for
the NFL Combine.
TheFootballExpert.com: Obviously it is still early, but do you have
any goals in mind when it comes to the NFL Draft?
Dan Bazuin: My goal is to be a first round pick, but
I just want to go to a team that appreciates the qualities I have to
offer.
TheFootballExpert.com: What is the one thing you will most miss at
college?
Dan Bazuin: My college teammates, they made my
college experience a great one and I will miss them the most.
TheFootballExpert.com: What has competing against Joe Staley in
practice done for your game?
Dan Bazuin: Playing against Joe each day helped me
improve greatly. He is such a great
athlete and football player that it took my best each day to compete
with
him. He is one of the reasons for my
success at Central Michigan.
TheFootballExpert.com: Do you look at NFL Mock Drafts or Expert’s
projections?
Dan Bazuin: I haven’t checked the projections because
I am a swing guy who could go in a number of different rounds and I am
doing
everything within my power to put myself in the best position come
draft
day.
TheFootballExpert.com: Any pregame rituals? Music? Food?
Dan Bazuin: An
ice
bath a few hours before the game to refresh my legs and visualizing
myself
making plays against the team that week are my pregame rituals.
