Interview: Andy Studebaker, DE/OLB, Wheaton College

4/21/08. To NFL Draft nuts, Andy Studebaker is a
big name from a small college. His measurements have been off the
charts and NFL teams have taken notice. Studebaker, may be from
little Whaton College, but has great size and speed and may be an ideal
OLB in a 3-4 system.

Studebaker: 6-3, 253, 4.54

your game in three words or
less.
Andy
Studebaker: Speed, Explosive, Playmaker
TheFootballExpert.com: What
do
you feel is your greatest
strength as a football player and what area do you feel you need to
improve in?
Andy
Studebaker: Strength- My strengths are my ability to run
around the field fast to make plays. Weakness- I need to adjust
to the speed of the NFL as I am a potential position change.

NFL player do you do you think you
compare favorably to?
Andy
Studebaker: Michael Strahan - speed, good pass rush off of
the end.

is the best player you have faced
during your college football career?
Andy Studebaker: Jason Lewis of Mt. Union
College.
TheFootballExpert.com: What
is your greatest football moment to
date?
Andy Studebaker: Winning the conference
championship in 2006 and going to the playoffs, having been denied both
the year before.
TheFootballExpert.com: Did
you have a favorite pro team growing
up? Favorite player?
Andy Studebaker: I was always a
Bears fan, and my favorite player has been Brian Urlacher.

instrumental was Coach Mike Swider in your
progression?
Andy
Studebaker: He has been a huge impact.
He has helped develop me physically, as well as a leader on the
team. His motivation drives our team to excellence in all areas
of our lives.
TheFootballExpert.com: What
have former or current NFL players now
in the NFL told you about preparing for the league?
Andy
Studebaker: They have told me to relax, and to
be ready to compete when the time comes. They said that the
adjustments come quickly, and to not be worried….just go out and work.
TheFootballExpert.com: When
you get your first professional
paycheck what is the first thing you will buy?
Andy
Studebaker: I have a lot of college loans to pay back.
I will probably start to pay that off to my parents.
TheFootballExpert.com: How
have you been preparing for the NFL
Draft?
Andy
Studebaker: I have been doing speed training and lifting
weights with Tom Christian in Chicago. We are working on drills,
and becoming faster athletes. I am also doing my physical therapy
from my foot surgery in November (I am now 100%!)
TheFootballExpert.com: Do
you have any goals in mind when it comes to the NFL
Draft?
Andy
Studebaker: I want my pro-day to show NFL scouts that I am
prepared to play in the NFL, and I want to push myself into the
draft. Ultimately I want to be on a team where I will contribute
to the system to win games.

Studebaker: I have had a great community of
friends and teammates and that will be something that I want to keep in
touch with.

is the best place to get a bite to
eat in Lynchburg, VA?
Andy
Studebaker: Chipotle is always a good choice… I eat anything
in sight!
TheFootballExpert.com: What
was your favorite college course
and why?
Andy
Studebaker: My favorite was a class called Christian
Thought. It was a class that studied the Christian faith from
many angles. It led to awesome discussions in and out of class,
and I actually liked the readings and papers!

pregame rituals? Food?
Music?
Andy
Studebaker: Nothing really… I have to have a good breakfast
on game dayt.

is
something football fans may not
know about you?
Andy
Studebaker: My hometown
is a small town of about 500 people. It is about a half mile long with
fields everywhere. I have butchered pigs and bailed hay.

you

Andy
Studebaker: I read a little bit, mostly I hear from other
people what the websites are saying.

was the last good movie you saw?

Studebaker: Forrest

do
you plan to do once your playing
career is over?
Andy
Studebaker: I have a lot of ideas right now. I may
pursue some graduate work in Physical Therapy. I am also going to
be involved in some type of ministry.
